HELLO THERE

Eric Poole Updated: 1/19/2025 | Posted: 1/19/2025

My name is Eric and I am an award winning software engineer, certified ethical hacker, and all-around nerd culture enthusiast. NERDAGES is my collection of everything I think is cool from video games, to anime, to tech gear, to cars, to living an active lifestyle. I believe it's important to bring our digital obsessions and physical goals into harmony to live happy, healthy, successful lives.

Professionally, I am a work-from-home software developer specializing in front end engineering, digital adoption, and automation. I am a lifelong gamer and proud Alienware customer advisory board member (The Forge). I enjoy teaching tech acolytes of all ages about programming and finding a healthy, sustainable tech-to-active living balance. I am also a student actively working towards completing my MBA in 2026. I am a huge advocate for continuous learning and education but I have deep resentment towards the current U.S. state university system that I will share more about in the future.

Personally, I am actively trying to clear out my gaming backlog from 2024. I am currently playing Star Wars Outlaws and Dragon Ball Sparking Zero. On the NERDAGES homepage you can find a list of upcoming games I am most excited about. I primarily play games on PC and PS5 but I own all of the consoles and love each of them. I enjoy building computers as well as testing prebuilt, massively available gaming PCs and love discussing the pros and cons of each. I am currently building and testing a custom “budget build” PC (i5, ARC B580) and my current work computer is a prebuilt Alienware R15 (i9, 4090).

My immediate life goals are to travel to Japan to climb Mt. Fuji and hike the Aokigahara Forest, complete a self help book on achieving healthy success while working in the tech sector, and transition my career from being a senior software developer to becoming chief technology officer.
